Blog suspension

will not have sufficient time or easy access to the internet for a couple of weeks and so postings to my blog are temporarily suspended. Normal service will resume on or about September 22nd.

UPDATE: Please feel free to leave your comments on JV programmes during the suspension here. And remember, play nicely!

Will it be ok if we have an open forum? if you leave the comments open your followers can do their best to evaluate how much our lives are affected by the four burning issues each day.

todays programme 5 september

Jeremy discusses police wearing their uniforms on their way to work, swapping green fields for jobs and epilepsy, plus Deborah Meaden says that young people today won't do manual labour

Why does anyone want to swap green fields for jobs and epilepsy? Or should there be a comma after jobs?

And looking at Deborah meadon's web site, it doesn't look like she has done any manual labour herself, so pots and kettles spring to mind

Is it a good idea for Policemen to wear their uniforms on the way to work to make it look as though there are more of them about? No, it's a stupid idea for lots of really obvious reasons. Next...

Should we ease green belt laws and build on some of the green bits? I live in a small village, I don't mind if some new houses get built, I don't mind if it stays as it is. Next...

Dr. Sarah Jarvis discusses 1st Aid for epileptics. I have to have a 1st Aid certificate for work and have a friend who is epileptic. I have first hand experience and know what to do. Next...

Deborah Meadon says that she can't recruit staff for her textile mill because young people think that manual work is beneath them. Sponging off the state instead isn't beneath them presumably.

I couldnt face listening to Jeremy over the last 2days.Mon-Radio went flat but having heard his trail with Ken wasnt going to listen anyway.Tues, switched over after he started talking after 1st record.Listening to the arrow on DAB (London Area) Or online @ www.thearrow.co.uk.Much better lunchtime listening than T****r Vine;-)

Most of the people charged over the rioting already have a criminal record, this means our penal system isn't working. today's big idea is that everyone should become a prison visitor and then look after a prisoner on their release. I thought that that was what the probation service was for. Next...

Some office worker wrote the words "All the usual rubbish about equal opportunities", is this really unfunny especially following on from yesterday's story about epilepsy. My freind was forced out of his job due to his epilepsy, this would of course be illegal except that equal opportunities was overridden by all the usual rubbish about health and safety. Next...

A guy won a million on a game show, should we take the money off him now that we know he has been guilty of domestic abuse. You have done this one before when an undesirable won the lottery. The answer is still no. Next...

I am not the tinyest bit interested in some guy who drove a 4X4 up a mountain and got stuck.

Another 4 subjects,I cant bear to listen too today,Thankfully Im on earlies this week&on my way home when TV starts so I'll grab a few hrs sleep as thats more productive&interesting.
Just as I was writing this the radio went flat within the last 5mins which is twice this week as even the radio cant face listening to Vine;-)

First off for today, can we get the growth back in the economy by giving everyone lots of free money? Are you really that stupid? next...

Childcare is too expensive. This is a subject that affects quite a lot of people but not me. Next...

Someone sued the council when their badly maintained roads damaged his car and won, will everyone be suing the council now? Don't know, Road maintenance is pretty good where I live so I won't be suing anyone. Next...

Forty nine people from Haverford West went on holiday together. That's OK with me if that's what they want to do, it wouldn't suit me though.

I don't know whether anyone else is having a problem with this. The anti-spam word doesn't come up on the first try. it isn't a problem as submitting your post just brings up an error message and an invitation to try again. I won't be carrying on trying to fill in for the lunchtime loather next week because I will be too busy, maybe someone else would like to try.

Today we have, should we always prosecute war crimes or sometimes not bother? Should a guy be banned from Fostering because on rare occasions he smokes a cigar? An interview with a woman who told off some rioters and an MP from Teeside who never meets his constituents but denies that he lives in France.

well i can't begin to emulate LL or even stoneyground but ill have a go in my own way, today at least!!
CSI tactics - so long as it doesn't involve Horatio I will remember when i am next in such a position. CSI Vine?
Eastern european nurses - Surely this would be sorted out at local level. I assume people still have to attend an interview and thought this would sort this out
911 memories - as someone who still says 11/9 i was at work. 'nuff said
Energy breakthrough - the thought of JV tring to get his head round this one is actually quite frightening. Didnt hear his chat with Ken earlier but will have to go onto listen again.

@gill kerry
You missed out the one about learning about forensic science by watching , presumably well researched, TV dramas.

On the subject of the promising research on nuclear fusion, I am always amused when I hear that the Mainstream Media finally pick up a story that I read on a blog several months ago.

Yesterday, monday, was too tediously boring to even bother! JV, he could limbo under a snake

gill kerry said...

Re tuesday 14 sep and the schoolwho are removing mirrors from the girls' toilets. JV said he didn't beleve it and was checking verification. SO, why was he already promising to discuss it? Does he not check veracity of stories first? Ermh, answers on a postcard.....not

Stonyground said...

"Does he not check veracity of stories first?"

It would appear not. If you trawl through the archive here you will find examples where the Lunchtime Loather has picked him up on using stories that have been fabricated by the tabloids.

gill kerry said...

Johnny marbles - perhaps he will throw a 'custard pie' at JV.
And someone else with a book to sell

Have the BBC or JV got shares in a publishing company? Perhaps we should be told, to quote Lord Gnome

gill kerry said...

Can't see todays details on my mobile. Sort.
It BBC. See paddy oconnell is sitting in next week. Oh delights, not

On nights next week so will miss that Thankfully.I think it was Wednesday I really tried to listen for 2 hrs but turned off at 1pm before I smashed the radio to pieces.Thats the last time I listened.

Today's issues that definately do not affect me the tiniest little bit:

More about moving the travellers from their illegal campsite. (Isn't it a condition of being a traveller that you actually travel?)

Something about installing telephones in prison cells.

Adopting foreign children.

Are we getting tired of period dramas?

Stonyground said...

Today we have, should Rupert Murdoch be able to buy off his guilt by giving two million quid to the parents of Millie Dowler?

Was it a mistake to allow Gurkhas to settle in the UK now that they are causing problems in Aldershot?

A discussion about the submarine killer, he liked violent video games you know.

Lastly a vicar who wants to get everyone singing hymns again, yeah well good luck with that.

Ive decided Life is much better&too short to waste listening to JV.Not listened for a week&the world seems a better place for it.JV is that bad these days he makes Streaky Bacon sound good(Yes he really is that bad)!!

Today's offerings.

The IMF are warning the government that their economic srategy may not work, not to worry, they have a plan 'B' apparrently. Am I hoping and praying that they stick with plan 'A'? Since plan 'A' seems to be to get us out of debt by still borrowing shedloads of cash but just slightly less than Labour did, not really.

John Prescott is coming along to explain why new fire station control centres cost five times as much as they should have and now aren't being used anyway.

Can Palestine expect the UN to approve their statehood if it involves putting their borders back where they were when Israel was first set up?

Some guy named Snoz has climed up a tree to prevent it being cut down. Snoz is a carpenter apparrently, I wonder where he imagines wood comes from.

The chat with Ken this morning was funny. When Jeremy was trying to be Funny then was cueing up the next song and Jeremy said "Are you trying to get rid of me and give me a Hint",Ken Replied "No just getting the next record ready as I never know when you are finished" Jeremy replioed with "Ive only done 2 items and its been 4 items for the last 8 years" Ken replied with I can never remember how many you have done"

Loosely translated as I never listen and havent listened for the last 8 years :-) Very Funny

I do get the idea that Ken doesnt like Jeremy Vine :-) Finished my nights and doing some Vid Editing at home so trying to listen today as a test but as soon as he comes up with a WTF moment then over it goes.Clock is running to see how long that is :-)

I survived Hour 1 but wasnt really taking that much notice.Hour 2 Im giving a miss as absolutely no interest in it. JV just said that "If you want to support the council then please ring up as we want to be fair"

Well that will be a 1st !!

Turning over now for the Arrow.5 Live at 2pm for Mayo & Kermode then thats the BBC finished for me until Monday 9.30am when Ken is back on.

Ken is best show on BBC and in the UK for me at any time.Simon Mayo & Alex Lester are the only other 2 worth listening too but they are both at the wrong time of day for me when I tend not to listen to the Radio.Maybe I should Listen to Mayo instead of JV as they are both 2 hour shows :-)

Jeremy Vine Consistently Incompetent!!
